Well
here we are into only our fourth year
as a bonafide scooter club and what a year the
third one has been! We started the club on the
back of a successful outing to the Dublin
Cruise in Oct 05, a charity ride out and night
time doo in aid of The Crumlin hospital for
sick Children.
It was to this end that a bunch
of us arranged to meet for the first time via
the internet to travel up this event since we all
had to travel up the N11 to Dublin
(hence the Moniker! despite what some may say!) which we duly did!
and over the tops of numerous pint glasses
later that night we decided to form a club of
our own, and with all more than slightly
inebriated, we rather thought it was a splendid
idea!
The manifesto of the club was to be Fun,
Drink, Fun, Drink, Fun, Fun, fun!oh and it
also helped if you were into scooters as well
and since it's conception on that drunken night
the club has gone from strength to strength.
We also wanted to be an active participant in
the Irish Scooter scene and to that end we took
the rather Stupid: lol: but brave step for a new
club not even 12 months old! by holding our
own scooter rally in July 06 (Rally K).
Rallykissangel was a resounding success,
thanks to the many, many scooterists who
embraced the idea of a new rally and got
behind it 100 per cent.
Our manifesto also stipulated that the club
would endeavour to travel to as many rallies
as it possibly could and sample the beer all
over this Fair Isle of ours, and we gave it a
fair whack that year! Avoca, Carlingford, Gorey,
Portrush, Comber, & Clonmel being just a
few that we attended .
We drank a few hundred pints in
route and we met a great many lovely people
on our adventures along the way.
This year promises to be bigger and better!
we have a few new enthusiastic members to
swell our ranks, decent lads all!
I'd say roll on 08…you're
looking good!!!
Keep the Faith
